Fightday Interclub`s Amateur MMA Rules
All competitors must wear gumshield, groin guard and approved MMA Sparring gloves and Shin Pads.
Only amateur fighters can compete, pro fighters are fighters with a PRO FIGHT WIN
If you have fought pro please give details on your entry form or you will not be allowed to compete.
Weight categories are as below
Heavyweight Above 93kg
Light Heavyweight Under 93kg
Middleweight Under 84kg
Welterweight Under 77kg
Lightweight Under 70kg
Featherweight Under 65kg
All competitors must have paid £10 to compete and completed their registration which includes making weight.
Shorts must not have pockets, zips or any dangly ornamentation.
No footwear is allowed
Bouts will be 2 x 3 minutes duration with 1 minute break
Inactivity will be penalized with both fighters being stood up.
Example 1) Not improving position(stuck in guard with nothing effective happening, and No useful gnp)
Example 2) Not applying a submission (Back control but unable to secure a submission and a stalemate occuring).
Ways to Win
Submission, verbal or a physical tap
Referee Stoppage (The referee can stop the fight if he feels the fighters is going to be injured through not tapping to a submission being applied)
Knock Out
Fouls
Headbutting
Eyegouging
Hair pulling
Biting
Fish-Hooking
Attacking the groin
Any Elbow Strikes
Strikes to the back of the head, spinal area and kidneys.
Strikes to, or grabs of the trachea
Small joint manipulation (control of three or more fingers/toes is necessary)
Heel hooks or other twisting leg locks
Spine Locks and neck cranks
Intentionally throwing your opponent out of the ring/cage
Running out of the ring/cage
Purposely holding the cage fence
Putting a finger into any orifice or into any cut or laceration on an opponent
Clawing, pinching or twisting the flesh
Grabbing the clavicle
Kicking the head of a grounded opponent
Kneeing the head of a Standing or Grounded opponent
Stomping a grounded opponent
Spiking an opponent to the canvas on his head or neck
Holding the shorts or gloves of an opponent
Spitting at an opponent
Engaging in an unsportsmanlike conduct that causes an injury to an opponent
Using abusive language in the Cage
Attacking an opponent on or during the break
Attacking an opponent who is under the care of the referee
Attacking an opponent after the bell has sounded the end of the period of unarmed combat
Flagrantly disregarding the instructions of the referee
Timidity, including, without limitation, avoiding contact with an opponent, intentionally or consistently dropping the mouthpiece or faking an injury
Interference by the corner
